Hi Kevin!

Both Hakko and Proface have an extensive range of HMI, starting from low cost 5" monochrome screen and ending with high spec multimedia 15" colour screens.

I will try to put together a comparison table between the two brands later.

Regarding the programming, unfortunately I have never used Proface HMIs so I can only talk for Hakko units.

The software (called V-sft) has many drivers included for PLC, controllers... and is updated regularly. In the communication setting, you just select the type of device, the manufacturer and then the model. I have tried a screenshot but I could not get the whole list of manufacturers:

The rest of the programming is fairly easy. For standard communication with PLCs, a lot of the programming can be achieved with buttons. Here is another screenshot that might help to get the idea:

More complex options are also available - I have found the Macro programming quite powerful - lets say so far I manage to do everything I want.

If you need further information on Hakko please let me know.

As I said unfortunately, I am not able to help for Proface models so if anybody else wants to share his experience it would be much appreciated!

Regards
