I would like to know the difference between an RS485 communication function and an RS232 ? What is the advantage of using RS485?

Thank you in advance for your time

Hi Fred,
RS485 and RS232 are specifications for the physical characteristics of the communications. Things like the number of wires, the voltages used etc. for an indepth tutorial, why not visit http://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/info/RS-485.html
